Parenting Courses
Georges River Lifecare is currently running 1-2-3 magic parenting workshops. These are a three session program aimed at parents with children 2-12yrs old. The course is designed to assist parents to manage their child's difficult behaviour such as tantrums, yelling, fighting and arguing. You will also learn practical skills to
develop your child’s positive behaviour and help make parenting an enjoyable experience.
Alpha Marriage Course
The Marriage Course is a seven week program developed by Nicky and Cilla Lee of Holy Trinity Brompton, London. The course is for any married couple keen to build their relationship. It doesn't matter if you have been married for a matter of months or 30 years or more, whether you are 20 or 60 or more so long as you want to work together to grow in your marriage.

Topics include: Building Strong Foundations, The Art of Communication, Resolving Conflict, The Power of Forgiveness, Parents and In-Laws, Good Sex and Love in Action.

Grandparents Support Group
The grandparents support group is aimed at those who are formal carers of their grandchildren. The group provides an opportunity to discuss and learn from each other’s experiences and to hear from professionals about relevant topics.

Community Legal Advice Service
Georges River Life Care have contracted Horizons Community Legal Centre to provide free legal advice to disadvantaged groups that cannot access legal aid and who cannot afford to pay a private lawyer. The service is due to commence on 4th August and will be available on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. The service will target parenting disputes, domestic violence, some criminal matters and debt problems.

Counselling Services
Our trained counsellors are available to provide support and assistance to individuals dealing with a range of issues including grief, anxiety, depression and relational, family and school problems.

 

Autism Support
Georges River Lifecare provides a range of services for parents of children with autism. We run autism events each term with invited guest speakers to provide an opportunity for parents to learn more about autism and how better to care for their children, their families and themselves. We also facilitate autism support groups that meet fortnightly.

Depression Support Network
"Inside Out" is a six week course that assists men to understand, manage and live beyond depression. Topics Include: Understanding Depression, Depression and Stigma, Relaxation, Relationships & Depression, Spirituality and Depression and Positive Thinking.

Lend-a-Hand
We provide occasional practical support to individuals and families in need. Jobs can include gardening, cleaning, minor repairs and moving furniture.
 
Bread and Food Parcels
Food parcels are made available providing food and groceries for families and individuals in need. This service is particularly targetted towards families and individuals that are struggling to make ends meet.

Playgroup
At River Kids Playgroup we have toys and games, art and craft, music time, stories and lots of fun!! For carers and kids 0-5yrs!

SHINE
SHINE is a nine week course designed to improve self esteem, sense of value and worth in women and girls. The program uses a range of learning techniques including creative activities, interactive games and discussions, role plays, and practical demonstrations to build confidence, knowledge and self worth. The program also explores topics such as self awareness, personal decision making, managing feelings, communications skills, self disclosure, self acceptance, personal responsibility and conflict resolution.
